It is an avenue for the children to also express themselves on space science related issues and science related subjects generally. On May 18, 2007, the school-based space club was birthed and ceremonially launched by the representative of the former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Paul Dike (now Chief of Defence Staff) at the conference centre of the OAU, Ile-Ife Airforce Comprehensive School, Ibadan on the 20th September, 2007 became the first secondary school that the centre visited to formally launch a space club and it was a memorable day.
